Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
This policy explains what OrbisScholar (www.orbisscholar.com) collects when you visit, why, and who else receives it. The site is operated by Orbis Scientia, of which OrbisScholar is a division. Questions or requests go to contact@orbisscientia.com.
What we collect when you visit
Each time you open a page on this site, we record:
- the page you visited, its full address, and the page that sent you here (the referrer)
- your browser and device type, as your browser reports it (the "user agent")
- the date and time of the visit
- your IP address
- a location worked out from your IP address: country, region, city, approximate latitude and longitude, time zone, and internet provider
We collect this to understand which pages people read, how they found the site, and where our visitors are.
Who else receives it
- ip-api.com receives your IP address when you visit, so it can return the location details listed above. That request is sent over an unencrypted connection.
- Microsoft Azure hosts this site and the database where visit records are stored.
- Cal.com receives the details you enter if you book a conversation, either in the Cal.com calendar on our scheduling page, which loads only when you choose to show it, or by following a link to Cal.com. Cal.com’s own privacy policy applies there.
- Resend delivers the emails generated when you submit the contact form.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use advertising networks.
Forms
When you submit the contact form, we collect your name, email address, institution, role, institution type, the topic you chose and your message. Along with it we record your IP address, your browser type, the page you came from, and any campaign tags in the address you arrived with.
We store the submission in our database and email it to our team. We also send a confirmation to the email address you gave.
We use it only to respond to you. We do not add you to a mailing list unless you ask to be added.
Cookies
This site does not set cookies.
The scheduling page can show a booking calendar that is served by Cal.com. It loads only when you choose to show it, and Cal.com may then set its own cookies inside it. Nothing else on this site loads content from another company.
Do Not Track
This site does not currently respond to Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals. Visits are recorded as described above whatever your browser’s setting.
How long we keep it
We keep visit records and form submissions until we delete them.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing contact@orbisscientia.com. Because visit records are not tied to your name, we may ask for your IP address or the approximate date of your visit to find them.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change what we collect or who receives it, we update this page and the date at the top.
